i dont know about you, web denizens, but the last few weeks were kind of hard for me news-wise. i had tried to remain neutral, even skeptical of what the mueller report might have held. it's my nature to protect myself, hedge my bets, not get too committed to something that might disappoint me. still, i found it pretty upsetting to see our "leader" gloat vindictively and promise to unleash retribution on his enemies. it's not my spiritual bag to do either of those things under any circumstance, but coming from the mouth of an abuser i found it doubly difficult.

so i retreated into the world of netflix (the new queer eye is so pleasant) and hulu (shrill is so gentle, despite its name). and of course i checked back in with drag race, to happily see that my bud rachel maddow was the subject of a quick-drag mini challenge. after all these years of public service, she has now finally arrived at her rightful place on the mountaintop of pop culture, next to Mother Ru.

all this is to say that i have been nurturing my non-news side lately, and it's giving me new life. i've also really been enjoying being back on the road and seeing more of y'all face to face. this month my schedule has me hitting a ton of cities i haven't been to in a while. scroll down to see the whole list. the timing couldn't be better. touring is the best antidote for my news-malaise. no matter what's happening in DC, in the nooks and crannies of our country, people are doing good, inspiring work that helps others.
